Focussed Attention

We all can shut out the world and focus on what we want to accomplish. If you can focus all of your attention, energy, time, and effort on one single goal. If you can turn the TV off and open your study books, put the wine away and work on your relationships, put your phone away and work on your communication skills. It may sound ironic that you must put your phone down to learn to communicate again. Although the cell phone makes it easy to stay in contact with each other, it’s so impersonal and fake most of the time. Wine isn’t bad for relationships don’t get me wrong. It’s a problem when we find comfort in the wine instead of our support structures.

We can multitask effectively to get to our goals. By focusing in on one single goal doesn’t mean you have to let the rest of your life go to shit. When you are goal-oriented you find ways to save time by, prioritising, outsourcing, and using technology to your advantage.

Procrastination is the art of being extremely busy while accomplishing nothing. Most of us are working jobs we dislike, go home to a family to who we are indifferent too. Every morning we wake up dreading the day ahead and already planning to come home to a beer or a glass of wine. We wish away most of our life way like this, just going through the motions. We dislike ourselves for not trying to improve the situation and feel frustrated and stuck because we don’t have time to change it.

But there is always time to work on yourself. Most people watch TV for about 3 hours when they get home. I stopped watching TV 5 years ago. In less than 3 years; I have been able to start a career in my field and quit bad habits I thought I’ll never be able to kick. Like smoking and drinking.

Challenge yourself and see what you can accomplish when you focus your attention.
